Ban Evictions on Uni Campuses

Thousands of students living on uni campus in Canberra, paying high rent. They are losing their jobs and incomes because of the public health crisis of Covid-19. Unis must ensure that these students are not made homeless by evictions.

Residential halls are asking students who can to leave and return home. What about the students who have nowhere else to go? Many of those students are losing their jobs, losing their income, struggling to pay for rent and food.

The unis must make sure that thousands of students are not made homeless because of this public health emergency.

Young workers are calling on Canberra based universities to step up and provide a basic level of support by guaranteeing that young student workers who have been thrown out of work won’t also be thrown out of home.

We’re calling the universities to ban evictions on campus!

We’re organising to build support across all the student residences to call on the unis to do the right thing. Together let’s build an organising and support network for young workers in student residences. Join us. Sign the petition to uni administration here.

Join the fight to stop evictions for all renters in Canberra. Send an email to Attorney General Gordon Ramsay.

Strength in numbers

We're building a movement of young workers powerful enough to end the illegal and unfair practices by employers that rip-off young workers.
